Spring on the fun at the Washington Monument Grounds with activities, music, competitions, and performances. Kite enthusiasts, beginners, families, and friends are all welcome – bring your own kite, purchase one onsite, or pick up a free kite kit that you can decorate onsite.
MEETING: We will start to gather outside the Smithsonian Metro Station (12th St. at Jefferson Dr. SW (The Mall) exit) at 9:30am. I will be wearing a Geek cap. We'll head over to the kites around 9:50am.
We usually get a spot on the hill by the monument (on the World War II Memorial side).
I will post a link that should share my location in real time through Google Maps. It doesn't show exactly where I am, but it does show the area. It helped last year.
A #kite channel will be created on the GNO Discord server on the day of the event. It's to be used to help everyone communicate and find the group. Don't post spoilers until after the event. You can join the Discord server here: https://discord.gg/d4e9MKScVP (link should be permanent. Please let me know if it stops working)
Please Note: We are not the organizers of the festival. Geek Nite Out is a Meetup group that is attending the festival.
